[Written/Action]

[Upon first waking up in Luceti, Hugo's first thought was that he knew Dalles was full of it. Of course it would be too easy for the Darkling leader's words to have been true and he could try out the demonic essence without any drawbacks. No, instead he seems to have found himself somewhere else, with his powers being lessened, his clothing, wand, and equipment being missing and a set of wings that are just hideous looking to him. Though more hideous because they look so much like the spell Dalles used to transfer the essence to him.

He did take the time to investigate the book left nearby him with his name on it. He hadn't any books on him at the time, but it was curious and some initial tests showed it wasn't demonic and safe for him to touch. Some time allowed him to find the guide and other entries by residents and get an idea of what was going on. Though he wasn't convinced fully yet that this had nothing to do with Dalles' schemes. In fact, Hugo was fully expecting to be ambushed by the Darklings as he tried to gather his things. At the very least it appeared he could still use the Eyes of Fact and his magic even now, so he wasn't defenseless.

His unease lessened as he found his things without any ambushes and the people he saw were just going about their own business and everything the book said appeared to be true so far. He went ahead and found a place to stay until he could figure out a way back to the tower or to Ys after he had tried the Lila Shell to get in touch with Eolia and found it didn't work here, the same with the Crystal.]

[And now that Hugo has settled in mostly and has had time to get his things and mull over the information he found in the guide and the journal, he has a few questions he'd like to ask.

So he writes a message in nice neat cursive.]

I am a new arrival here, a "New Feather" as ones like myself seem to be called. My name is Hugo Fact. I appreciate the information given in the guide, but I have a question. What is known about the origin of the magic and spirits here? I do not mind hearing theories if that is all that there is.

And then if there are any here who call themselves Darklings, please do go ahead and get your threats, mockery and strange comments out of the way now. I would much rather get it over with than have to wait for the pleasure of your company.

[Also feel free to catch him as he explores the village, namely the shops and library.]

True there's so many differing types of spirits, and give the nature of this world we hardly know if this is typical or atypical of them. But I'm not sure if these spirits are past users of filial magic. That could certainly be the case however. It would make sense, given how strange and different this place's afterlife seems to be, but they don't have a distinctive shape or form so it's hard to tell really.

That's true enough, it's not permanent. But there's the period between when someone passes and when they're brought back. Where exactly do, ah, people go then if not the afterlife...

[ Helios has died twice so far and yet he couldn't remember any of the time from when he died to the point where he got back. It was strange, really, thinking about it. ]

[ Helios winces on his end knowing that the other has no idea that he himself has died. It's a legitimate question at least and Helios wonders about it himself. ] I...I don't know. It might be different for everyone. I'm not sure...people would want to either.

So your world has ghosts and spirits then as well? I know some places don't. Most of the time they...don't make their presence known in my world. Only to some people. They're not like the spirits here where they'll openly allow anyone to feel their presence.

[ Not usually at least. Ghosts and spirits in his own world are a bit shy and awkward when it comes to interactions. ]

Demons...I see. Your Goddesses have gone missing you say? How, how is such a thing possible if you don't mind my asking?

I see. So they live among you as well then. It's like that in my own world too. For the lesser known gods and goddesses at least. [ The ones who didn't have as much strength as the others. It's nice to see that other world's act in a similar fashion and people are accustomed to having their gods living among them. ] That's...terrible. I'm sorry that, that happened. I hope that you can find them and that they're alright where ever they are.

[ Helios shakes his head on his end. ]

[written] I am so sorry for the slow! Dx

I hope you do. It...must be quite distressing for the both of them as w-well as their followers. [ He sounds sincere and sad at the prospect. But, well, if the best were out searching then Helios just knows that they'll be found eventually. ]

It's not uncommon, really. N-Not for the well known gods in my world. The gods of old and-and things like that though...they're more sequester to living among humans than most.

No. You're absolutely right in that regard. It's rather astounding at how many people and their worlds have actually seen and talked to their own gods.
